About Jacleen Charbonneau, LMHC
Hi there! I help young adults dealing with OCD, anxiety, and depression—especially during those overwhelming or in-between moments in life when everything feels a little upside-down. Whether you’re stuck in your thoughts, struggling to make decisions, or just feeling off and not sure why, I’m here to help you build real, evidence-based tools to feel more grounded, clear, and in control.
I’ve been working as a therapist in mental health since 2016, supporting both youth and adults in residential and outpatient settings. Those experiences gave me a deep understanding of how symptoms show up in everyday life—and how helpful it can be to have structured, reliable strategies that actually work.
I earned my graduate degree from Assumption University in Worcester, MA, where I graduated with distinction from its clinical psychology program rooted entirely in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a leading and gold standard treatment. Every course I took—from assessment to intervention—was grounded in the science of how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. This foundation is still at the core of my work today.
While in grad school, I was granted a 9-month clinical research psychology fellowship through Assumption’s Clinical Psychology Department. After graduation, I continued my research involvement by collaborating with Assumption University and Boston University, helping in ongoing clinical research-based insights.
I’ve gone on to receive a number of trainings in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT)—two of the most effective approaches for treating OCD— through reputable organizations including Cognitive Behavioral Institute and OCD Training School. I also attend weekly consultation meetings for ICBT, which involve insight from top I-CBT experts, to stay current on best practices and bring that clarity into the therapy room.
Since 2022, I’ve been teaching undergraduate and graduate clinical psychology courses at Assumption University, home of the CBT-based Aaron T Beck Institute. My teaching keeps me connected to the latest research and gives me the chance to support future therapists in developing strong, ethical, evidence-based practices.
Outside of work, I’m usually trying new coffee shops, listening to podcasts, or diving into a mental health nonfiction book.
If you’re looking for a therapist who appreciates each person’s uniqueness and is focused on giving you tools that actually help—I’d love to connect!
